The Santa Monica Police Department plans to conduct a sobriety/driver’s license checkpoint in Santa Monica Friday, September 12th.
Officers will be contacting drivers in the 300 block of Pico Boulevard, one block east of Main Street, to confirm their sobriety and driver’s license status.
Funding for the program was provided by a grant from the Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Santa Monica police remind drivers to have a designated driver or to call a taxi if they plan on drinking.
