UCLA Healthcare has appointed Posie Carpenter chief administrative officer at Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center.
Most recently, Carpenter was director of nursing at the 337-bed medical center, which serves as a part of the UCLA Healthcare primary-care network.
Carpenter came to Santa Monica-UCLA in 2004 from the Southern California Orthopedic Institute in Van Nuys, where she was director of surgical services.
Earlier, she was executive director of the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles.
Carpenter called this “a very exciting time in Santa Monica-UCLA’s long and illustrious history.”
“We are about to begin our much-anticipated partnership with Orthopaedic Hospital and are making excellent progress with our rebuilding project.
“Both developments will be extremely beneficial to the Westside community and beyond.”
From 1989 to 1998, Carpenter held several UCLA Healthcare managerial and staff positions at UCLA Medical Center in Westwood.
A Westchester resident, she holds dual master’s degrees in nursing and public health from Columbia University and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Georgetown University.
