U.S. Postal Service (USPS) offices serving the greater Los Angeles area will make holiday deliveries with expanded post office hours that began Saturday, December 9th.
The Venice Main Post Office, at 1601 Main St., Venice, will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
USPS National Call Center representatives can help customers locate other nearby post offices with extended holiday hours. The Call Center phone number is (800) 275-8777 (800-ASK-USPS).
The Postal Service is expecting a “very busy holiday mail season.”

About 1.4 billion cards, letters and packages are expected by the Postal Service to be mailed in the Los Angeles Basin between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
“On our busiest mailing day, Monday, December 18th, we expect 61 million pieces to be mailed in the Greater Los Angeles Basin — more than twice the normal volume,” said local USPS spokesman Larry Dozier. “Wednesday, December 20th, will be our busiest delivery day.”
The Postal Service recommends mailing out-of-state cards and letters by December 18th, and in-state mail by Thursday, December 21st.
Priority packages should be mailed by December 20th. After those three dates, customers can still use Express Mail services for their packages to many U.S. destinations.
