The Santa Monica Pier Restoration Corporation is calling on artistic student, amateur and professional designers to submit their ideas in an annual contest for the Twilight Dance Series poster.
This year marks not only the 25th anniversary of the popular Dance Series on the Santa Monica Pier but the centennial anniversary of the Pier. Members of the Pier Restoration Corporation are asking artists to keep those milestones in mind while creating their poster designs.
All entries for the poster contest are due by Friday, March 6th. The winning design becomes the primary communications piece for the ten-week concert series on the Pier and will be used in display advertising, posters, flyers and banners.
The artist who creates the winning design will receive $750, as well as a VIP package for the summer, including a backstage pass to the series. All designs will be displayed on the Santa Monica Pier between March 20th and April 10th to recognize the artists’ efforts.
This year’s contest winner will be chosen through a secure Internet poll at www.santamonicapier.org/. Visitors to the site will only be able to vote once for one poster. Voting will take place between mid-March and early April.
