The American Cancer Society’s Venice Relay for Life Committee is recruiting volunteers for the relay this summer.

Relay for Life is a 24-hour event in Venice to increase cancer awareness while raising funds for American Cancer Society programs and services.

Teams composed of up to 12 people formed by local businesses, community groups, and individuals raise funds prior to the event.

Then at the Relay, team members take turns walking or running around a track, relay-style.

Relays for Life take place in more than 3,800 communities across the United States in August.

Volunteers in Venice are needed to help with planning and logistics, to recruit local businesses for sponsorships, and organize teams for the event.
