As one of eight winners in a national contest, a member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Monica will receive a Jeep-themed bash Thursday, Aug. 9 at the club’s John Adams Middle School branch to enjoy with friends, family and fellow club members along with other prizes.
The Jeep brand and Boys & Girls Clubs of America has awarded Santa Monica club member Sabrina Giannette the national prize in the Jeep “Dream Adventure” contest, a partnership that awards adventurous youth with an action-filled “dream” for their local club.
Over four million youth across the United States were challenged by the Jeep brand and Boys & Girls Clubs of America to answer the question, “What would you do in this big world if you could do anything you wanted?” To enter the contest, youths aged 6-12 shared illustrations and members aged 13-18 submitted 60-second videos describing their ultimate “dream adventure.”
Giannette’s video titled “The Isle That Makes Me Smile,” expressed her personal dream adventure.
The Jeep-themed celebration will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. During the event there will be activities such as an obstacle course, rock climbing, inflatable jump house, airbrush tattoos, project adventure games, and a lunch at noon during which Sabrina will be presented as the winner of the prize contest.
“Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Monica is proud of the creativity that Sabrina has shown through the ‘Dream Adventure’ Contest,” said Erika Mitchell, branch manager for Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Monica. “Our organization strives to provide programs and activities that give young people the tools they need to be creative and succeed both in and outside of the classroom.”
