Santa Monica City Manager Rod Gould has been appointed to a three-year term as West Coast regional vice president for the International City/County Management Association National Board.
The management association is dedicated to advancing professional local governments worldwide and has over 9,000 members.
“I am honored to serve on the board of the premier professional association of local government managers worldwide,” Gould said. “City and county managers work hard to build sustainable communities, often in very difficult circumstances. I want to do my part to support my colleagues through leadership with ICMA.”
Gould will serve on the organization’s executive board, overseeing the association’s financial, member-related, and programmatic affairs and selecting the board president.
As one of 18 vice presidents, three of whom are elected from the organization’s West Coast region (which includes Alaska, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon and Washington), Gould will represent the management group to state associations of local government management and maintain relationships among other affiliated organizations.
