Santa Monica police have arrested a man for attempted murder after another man was seriously injured during an alleged road rage incident in Santa Monica Wednesday, May 24th.
Santa Monica police were called at 8:10 p.m. May 24th to the area of Ashland Avenue and 11th Street, where an accident had been reported.
Police say preliminary investigation revealed that the accident was a road rage incident, in which the male victim had reportedly been followed by the suspect from the area of 14th and Pearl Streets, police said.
The suspect allegedly followed the victim for several blocks while honking his horn, police said.
When the victim got out of his vehicle to confront the other driver, the suspect allegedly drove toward the victim, struck him with his vehicle and fled, police said.
The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he was treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect, identified as Ronald Erwin Eisenberg, 52, of Santa Monica, was arrested Friday, May 26th, in the 2000 block of 14th Street, Santa Monica police Lt. Frank Fabrega said.
