The Second Annual SANTA Monica Pub Crawl will tour popular bars and restaurants in Santa Monica beginning at 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18 to help raise money and food for those in need for the holidays, through a partnership with the Westside Food Bank.
Last year’s inaugural event involved over 2,000 participants and raised about 4,000 pounds of food for charity, organizers said. Participating locations will offer drink and food specials as part of the SANTA Monica Pub Crawl festivities.
SANTA Monica Pub Crawl participants are asked to bring non-perishable food donations to drop off at Westside Food Bank collection barrels at the official starting locations.
“Crawlers” must dress in Santa/holiday attire for characters such as Mrs. Claus, elves, reindeer, carolers and Santa’s helpers. Santa hats and T-shirts will be available for sale at the official starting locations.
All participants must sign up on the SANTA Monica Pub Crawl Web site atwww.santamonicapubcrawl.com in order to collect their wristband to gain access into the bars and enjoy the food and drink specials.
This year’s crawl will provide three routes for crawlers to choose from including bars on Main Street, the Santa Monica Pier, Santa Monica Boulevard, Fourth Street, and Wilshire Boulevard.
Some of the bars participating in the 2010 crawl include: Big Dean’s Oceanfront Café, Brittania, Harvelle’s, O’Brien’s Irish Pub, Angel’s Piano Bar, SOUTH, Sonny McLean’s Pub, Renee’s Courtyard Café, Rusty’s Surf Ranch, LuLu’s Mexican Restaurant, Salute Wine Bar, West 4th & Jane, Wokcano and Ye Old King’s Head.
