The Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District Web site has been updated with new features, including a blue and yellow color scheme and a variety of education-related images.

The new Web site, www.smm usd.org/, which has over 200 pages, 250 images, and 1,400 PDF documents, went live during the evening February 20th. The public unveiling occurred as part of superintendent Dianne Talarico’s report during the February 21st Board of Education meeting in Santa Monica City Council Chambers.

Department links can be found in the left-hand column of each page and links to more detailed information and documents can be found across the top of the department pages.

Links to the individual school sites can be found in the lower right-hand corner of the home page, while the lower left-hand corner will be continuously updated with announcements and district events.

Talarico explained that just after the beginning of the 2007-08 school year, she met with Maryanne Solomon, a consultant from Art Meets Technology, and decided to move forward with updating the district’s Web site.

Before unveiling the Web site, Solomon thanked the superintendent for asking her to lead the project.
