The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is seeking the public’s assistance in solving a vandalism crime in Marina del Rey.
Sometime between 9 a.m. Saturday, June 30th, and 7 a.m. Sunday, July 1st, three 20-foot palm trees were cut down and removed from “Fiji Park,” south of Fiji Way between Lincoln Boulevard and Admiralty Way in Marina del Rey.
The mature palm trees were cut at the base, leaving a very low stump, and they were completely removed from the site.
Anyone having information regarding the suspect(s) involved in this vandalism and theft is asked to telephone Detective Perry Tardif at the Marina Sheriff’s Station, (310) 482-6000.
In addition, the sheriff’s department is asking the public to report persons who might be observed in the process of removing any palm trees in the area.
