Santa Monica College (SMC) students will receive about $400,000 in scholarships at a ceremony at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 6th, in the SMC Student Cafeteria, 1900 Pico Blvd., Santa Monica.

Approximately 500 students, including incoming freshmen, have been selected for scholarships.

Awards generally range from $250 to $2,000 each and are donated by area service clubs, businesses, government agencies and individuals.

The largest scholarships are $2,000 each and are:

– three Sydney Goldfarb Awards for Outstanding African American Students;

– two Paul and Leslie Ridley-Tree Awards for Latinos; and

– two Hilding A. Tegner Awards for Academic Achievement.
