The Theatre Arts and Music Department at Santa Monica College (SMC) will present offbeat and classic musicals in the workshop “What the #@^%& Was That?” at the SMC Theatre Arts Studio Stage Thursday through Sunday, June 3rd through 6th.

The SMC Musical Theatre workshop performances cover everything from the sublime to the ridiculous in a revue of numbers from such offbeat musicals as The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Reefer Madness and Evil Dead, and classics Les Miserables, Cabaret and Pajama Game.

The workshop is directed by theatre arts professor Perviz Sawoski and the music director is Karen Benjamin. The accompanist is Gary Gray.

A free preview performance of an abridged version of the show will be given at 11:15 a.m. June 3rd at the studio stage on the SMC main campus, 1900 Pico Blvd., Santa Monica.

Performances are scheduled June 4th, 2 p.m., June 5th, 8 p.m., and June 6th, 2 p.m.

Tickets are $10, plus a $1 service fee. Parking is free on Friday evenings and weekends. There is no late seating.
