Continuing its tradition of offering children’s plays in the summer, the Santa Monica College Theatre Arts Department is presenting the Roald Dahl classic, “James and the Giant Peach,” Friday through Sunday, July 27 through 29.
Performances are scheduled at 7 p.m. July 27, 1 and 7 p.m. July 28 and 1 p.m. July 29 on the SMC Theatre Arts Studio Stage, 1900 Pico Blvd., Santa Monica.
Adapted by David Wood, the play tells the story of the adventures of James as he crawls inside an enormous peach that has grown from a tree touched by magic.
The tale of the resourceful orphan James and his new family of magically overgrown insects has delighted children and adults alike for decades.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 3 to 12. Children under 3 are free when seated on a parent’s lap. A $1-per-ticket service charge is added. There is no late seating.
Parking is free on Friday evenings and weekends.
