Venice, a solo exhibition of works by Venice artist Jerome Stumphauzer, will be presented at the Talking Stick Coffee Lounge gallery beginning Friday, Nov. 12 through Dec. 9.
An opening reception for the exhibit with music provided by Venice Mozaic is scheduled from 7 to 10 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14 at the Talking Stick, 1411 Lincoln Blvd., Venice.
Stumphauzer’s paintings focus on Venice and local scenes in the community. The featured work in the exhibit is a new mixed-medium collage entitled “Venice!” – a recreated view of Windward Avenue at the beach. The work features Jim Morrison of The Doors, Venice founder Abbot Kinney, Stumphauzer and other characters who have been added to this “kaleidoscope” of Venice Beach.
The artist’s paintings of the Venice canals and photos of Venice Beach sunsets and surfing are also on display. In addition, a sampling of his Santa Monica and Hawaii paintings can be viewed.
