A Loyola Marymount University (LMU) student was wounded inside her on-campus apartment by an unknown suspect Friday night, March 14th, police and university officials said.

The student received superficial wounds from a knife and was taken to a local hospital, where she was treated and released, according to LMU.

The Los Angeles Police Department Pacific Division is investigating the incident as an assault with a deadly weapon.

The suspect in the incident is described only as a white man in his late teens or early 20s, police said.
