School children from 15 schools in Los Angeles-area communities will learn maritime skills, such as how to raise sails and weigh anchor, while the tall ships Lady Washington and Hawaiian Chieftain visit Marina del Rey this month.
The tall ships, which are scheduled to arrive in the Marina Saturday, December 8th, will remain until Wednesday, December 19th.
Maritime heritage education programs are scheduled for students from the communities of Marina del Rey, Playa del Rey, Topanga, Beverly Hills, Redondo Beach, Los Angeles, Chino Hills, Pasadena, Rolling Hills Estates, Bellflower and El Monte.
The students will participate in sailing and dockside programs.
