Children ages two and up and teenagers in grades six to 12 can now sign up for the Santa Monica Public Library’s Summer Reading Program.

Children will receive prizes after reading (or being read to) for a combined five, ten and 15 hours. For completing 30 hours of reading, teens receive a prize, raffle tickets to enter a grand prize drawing for prizes, and an invitation to the end-of-summer Teen Party.

This year, the theme is mysteries — “Get a Clue @ Your Library” for children, and “You Never Know @ Your Library” for teens.

Sign-ups are at the Main Library, 601 Santa Monica Blvd., Santa Monica, or at any one of the branch locations.

Free weekly activity programs for children ages four and up offered at the Main Library and all branch locations include puppet shows, stories, crafts, music and more.

Teens can learn felting and other crafts and enjoy movies and book discussions.
