Local residents within the Palms/Mar Vista/Del Rey and West Los Angeles Community Plan areas are encouraged to offer input on a citywide survey of historic resources at a community meeting scheduled from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 7th at the

West Los Angeles Municipal Building, 1645 Corinth Ave., Room 200.

The regional meeting will be held to begin organizing the community to participate in SurveyLA, the first-ever citywide survey of Los Angeles’ historic resources. The West Los Angeles and Palms/Mar Vista/Del Rey Community Plan areas have been selected to participate in the first year of the citywide survey.

SurveyLA, partially funded by a matching grant from the Getty Foundation, will document significant historic places and neighborhoods to help inform and shape the city’s New Community Plan that will guide future development.

Historic preservation professionals conducting the survey say they encourage community members to share their special knowledge about important local buildings and places. Comments from various neighborhoods will be considered in the survey’s evaluations and will help ensure that places important to each community are not overlooked.

To RSVP, (213) 978-1192.
