The Talking Stick in Venice will host a performance by five musical acts beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 19 to raise funds to benefit the nonprofit Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum.
Sisters Ellen Geer and Melora Marshall will headline the show, which also features the music of Crazy Aunt Mary, The Conlons, Liz Eldridge and Matt Van Winkle.
The Theatricum, founded in Topanga in 1979, is a nonprofit theatre group offering professional classical theatre services, including acting training, classes and performance opportunities to schools throughout Southern California. Some of these services, which used to be part of arts curriculum in schools, have been removed due to budget cuts, according to the group.
Theatricum is a preferred arts education provider for the Los Angeles County Arts Commission and an Arts Partner of the Los Angeles Unified School District. The group’s mission is to elevate, educate and entertain audiences of all ages by presenting thought-provoking classics, socially relevant plays and education programs in a natural outdoor sanctuary for the arts.
The Talking Stick show is open to all ages. Tickets are available at the door with a suggested donation of $10. All proceeds from ticket sales and auction will go directly to Theatricum.
The Talking Stick is at 1411 Lincoln Blvd., Venice.
