The “Taste of Abbot Kinney” will take place Sunday, Oct. 23, offering samplings from an array of restaurants and wineries along the eclectic Venice boulevard.
The event, benefiting Inside Out Community Arts, will be held at select locations on Abbot Kinney Boulevard. Inside Out Community Arts is a nationally recognized, award-winning non-profit founded in 1997 that brings after school arts to disadvantaged and under-served youths in the Los Angeles area.
The redesigned event features a VIP Tasting Package from 3 to 6:30 p.m., or a Tasting Tour Package from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Tickets for the VIP package, which includes the tasting tour, are $100. Tickets for the Tasting Tour Package are $60.
Joe Miller of Joe’s Restaurant, the event chair who is celebrating his 20th anniversary on Abbot Kinney, will headline the VIP reception that will be hosted by The Food Network’s Adam Gertler. The event will include a DJ, live music, exclusive tastes, cocktails and demonstrations from some of the street’s executive chefs including Miller and Yoshi Shima. The reception will be held at Continuum, 901 Abbot Kinney Blvd.
“Our focus this year is on the great chefs of Abbot Kinney,” said Bruce Rosen, interim executive director of Inside Out. “We are proud to be part of this creative community and invite L.A.’s most discriminating foodies to join us for an afternoon of eclectic tastes.”
Event highlights will include food and wine tastings from participating Abbot Kinney restaurants and local wineries, as well as a drawing for fine hotel and restaurant packages. Ticket holders will also receive an event book with exclusive recipes and chef biographies.
