Maestro Frank Fetta and the Marina del Rey Summer Symphony will be joined by The Christopher Brothers in a special tribute to The Beatles at a free Marina del Rey Summer Concert in Burton Chace Park at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5.

The performance will feature symphonic arrangements of some of The Beatles’ greatest hits and songs sung and played by the young trio of brothers. The host of the evening is Rich Capparela, a popular KUSC FM personality.

The Christopher Brothers is a rock band formed by three brothers, ages 9, 12, and 14. The young band has played throughout the Los Angeles area, with Six Flags Magic Mountain as one of their most performed venues.

In addition to writing their own songs, they say they are particularly drawn to music of The Beatles, and will perform some of their favorite songs at this concert.

The orchestra will also be heard in “Decline and Fall of a Bridge” by John Dankworth and Sir John’s arrangement of The Beatles’ song “Here, There and Everywhere” — both presented in tribute to the great English composer and musician, who died this year. The symphony orchestra will also play two works by George Gershwin: “Porgy and Bess — Symphonic Picture” and “American in Paris.”

Sponsors of the Marina del Rey Summer Concerts are Los Angeles County Supervisor Don Knabe, the county Department of Beaches and Harbors, and the Ritz Carlton Marina del Rey.
