ATTEMPTED BURGLARY

Someone tried to break into an apartment in the 14000 block of Old Harbor Lane between November and February 14th.

GRAND THEFT

The following items were reported taken in Marina del Rey grand thefts:

hand tools valued at $500 in the 13400 block of Fiji Way between 8 and 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 23rd;

boat exhaust manifolds valued at $1,000; boat transmission oil coolers valued at $500; boat exhaust elbows valued at $1,000; boat air cleaner boxes valued at $1,500; boat hoses valued at $240; and boat pipes valued at $100; in the 13600 block of Fiji Way between 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 22nd, and 6 a.m. Wednesday, March 23rd;

a stereo valued at $1,200; a TV valued at $1,000; and CDs valued at $1,000 in the 4100 block of Via Marina between September 1st and February 15th; and

a golf cart valued at $800 in the 4200 block of Via Marina between noon and 12:30 p.m. Thursday, February 17th.

PETTY THEFT

A wallet and contents, including $100 and credit cards, were taken in the 4100 block of Via Marina Thursday, March 17th.

STOLEN VEHICLES

The following vehicles were reported stolen in Marina del Rey:

a 1997 Chevrolet Suburban in the 13900 block of Marquesas Way between 6 p.m. Wednesday, February 16th, and noon Thursday, February 17th; and

a 1999 Harley-Davidson motorcycle in the 4100 block of Via Marina between 8 p.m. Monday, February 7th, and 9 a.m. Tuesday, February 8th.

SUSPICIOUS

CIRCUMSTANCES;

POSSIBLE EXTORTION

A man whose company funds movie projects told sheriff’s deputies that he has received demand letters seeking $10,000 and $10 million and later $2 million and $2 billion dollars under an agreement that the man alleges was not the agreement his firm had with other parties. The man told sheriff’s deputies the letters allege that if the man doesn’t pay the funds, the parties demanding the funds will sue him and “mess up” other contracts he is funding.

VANDALISM

The following incidents of vandalism were reported in Marina del Rey:

scratches on a 1996 Mercedes-Benz in the 4300 block of Via Marina between noon Wednesday, March 9th, and 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 16th, with damage estimated at $2,000;

a punctured tire in the 4100 block of Via Marina Saturday, March 19th; with damage estimated at $100; and

a door marked with graffiti in the 14000 block of Marquesas Way; with damage estimated at $100.
