ATTEMPTED BURGLARY

Someone entered a 33-foot Carver powerboat in the 13500 block of Bali Way between 5 p.m. Saturday, January 22nd, and 11:30 a.m. Sunday, January 23rd, causing damage estimated at $1,150 between 5 p.m. Saturday, January 22nd, and 11:30 a.m. Sunday, January 23rd.

Someone attempted to break into a boat in C Basin between 6 p.m. Thursday, December 16th, and 1 p.m. Thursday, December 30th, causing $185 in damages.

BURGLARY

The following items were taken in Marina del Rey burglaries:

a toolbox valued at $500 and two bicycles valued at $100 each in the 4100 block of Admiralty Way between 9 p.m. Saturday, January 22nd, and 11 a.m. Sunday, January 23rd;

a laptop computer valued at $1,300, a camera valued at $450, a $500 jacket and a $3,000 wristwatch in the 13900 block of Panay Way between 1 p.m. Friday, December 31st, and 3 p.m. Saturday, January 1st;

a laptop computer valued at $1,000, a DVD player valued at $500, a VHF marine radio valued at $300, a tool valued at $40, a knife valued at $100 and a camera valued at $100 in the 13900 block of Panay Way between 4 p.m. Sunday, December 19th and 6:30 p.m. Friday, December 31st;

binoculars valued at $700, binoculars valued at $200, a night vision device valued at $1,000, a VHF radio valued at $150 and an emergency broadcasting beacon valued at $250 in C Basin 28th, between 4 p.m. Monday, December 27th, and 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 28th;

a TV valued at $300, a radio valued at $100, an inverter valued at $300, sleeping bags valued at $125, video discs valued at $50, hand tools valued at $100, a power cord valued at $100 and anchors valued at $300 from the cabin area of a boat at the transient slips adjacent to Burton Chace Park between Friday, December 3rd, and Wednesday, December 22nd;

a cymbal set valued at $1,000 and a bag valued at $50 in the 4200 block of Via Marina between 7:30 p.m. Saturday, December 18th, and 7 a.m. Sunday, December 19th;

BURGLARY FROM VEHICLE

The following items were taken in Marina del Rey burglaries involving vehicles:

a leveling laser valued at $250, a toolbox valued at $40, a socket set valued at $200, and a vacuum cleaner valued at $50 in the 4100 block of Via Marina between Wednesday, January 19th, and Wednesday, January 26th; and

a cassette player valued at $25, a Lakers hat valued at $20, two fanny packs valued at $10, and shoes valued at $40 in the 4100 block of Via Marina between 5 p.m. Saturday, January 1st, and 9 a.m. Monday, January 3rd.

GRAND THEFT

A camera valued at $400, a camera case valued at $30, a briefcase valued at $20 and a planner valued at $60 were taken in the 4100 block of Via Marina between 1 p.m. Monday, January 17th, and 8 a.m. Tuesday, January 18th.

A victim told sheriff’s deputies that he placed a plastic bag with two envelopes containing $30,000 each between his legs as he sat in the passenger side of a rented vehicle. The victim’s driver let the victim off in the 4200 block of Admiralty Way at 9 p.m. Wednesday, January 5th, so that the victim could take some purchases to his room and the victim left the envelopes of currency in the vehicle. The victim said he attempted to return to the vehicle and found that the vehicle had been exchanged for another vehicle and the bag with the currency was missing. The driver said that he had left the vehicle unlocked and remained around the vehicle while the victim had gone to his room. The victim said that he was taking the currency to UCLA Hospital to pay for his sister’s medical bills.

PETTY THEFT

The following items were taken in Marina del Rey thefts:

a wetsuit valued at $350 in the 4300 block of Via Marina between 9 p.m. Wednesday, January 19th, and 7 a.m. Thursday, January 20th;

currency and coins valued at $100 in the 4200 block of Admiralty Way between Monday, November 29th and Friday, January 7th; and

a purse valued at $80 and a cellular phone valued at $50 in the 13700 block of Fiji Way between 9:15 and 9:25 p.m. Friday, December 31st.

STOLEN VEHICLES

The following vehicles were reported stolen in Marina del Rey:

a 2005 Suzuki motorcycle in the 4600 block of Via Marina between 9 p.m. January 4th, and 3:39 p.m. January 6th; and

a 1989 boat trailer in the 13500 block of Bali Way between 4 p.m. December 17th, and 7 a.m. December 18th.

STOLEN VESSEL

A 25-foot 1981 McGregor sailboat was left anchored in Ballona Creek Tuesday, January 4th. When the owner returned to the site Friday, January 14th, the vessel was missing. The boat was valued at $5,000.
