ARRESTED FOR PULLING OUT KNIFE ON A MAN
Police were called to the 2000 block of the beach at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 17th, regarding a report of a disturbance.
A man told police that a suspect was yelling obscenities to a woman passing by. When the man asked the suspect to stop, the suspect allegedly pulled out a knife and told the man to leave him alone.
Police detained the suspect at the scene and recovered the knife. The suspect was arrested and booked for exhibiting a deadly weapon.
ALLEGEDLY HIT WOMAN ON HEAD WITH BOTTLE
Officers on patrol in the 2900 block of Main Street at 1:15 a.m. Sunday, January 18th, were flagged down by witnesses who told them a woman was bleeding from her head.
The woman had been inside a bar when a suspect pushed her. After the woman pushed the suspect back, the female suspect allegedly struck the woman on the head with a glass bottle.
The woman then went outside to notify police as the suspect was getting in a taxi. Police located the suspect, arrested her and booked her for assault with a deadly weapon.
EMPLOYEE BOOKED FOR STEALING FROM REGISTER
Police were called to a store in the 300 block of Colorado Avenue at 11:55 a.m. Saturday, January 17th, regarding a theft investigation.
Loss prevention agents alleged to police that they saw an employee remove cash from a register. The agents conducted an audit of the employee’s register and found that there was an additional loss totaling $660 from the previous week.
Police arrested the employee and booked him for embezzlement.
ARRESTED FOR STEALING ALCOHOL FROM STORE
Police were called to a supermarket in the 2600 block of Lincoln Boulevard at 7:10 p.m. Monday, January 19th, regarding a theft investigation.
A store manager alleged to police that a suspect took a bottle of vodka, concealed the bottle in his front pocket and left without paying. The alcohol was valued at $7.57
The suspect, who was detained outside, was arrested by police and booked for commercial burglary.
BOOKED FOR STEALING CLOTHES FROM STORE
A manager at a store in the 2900 block of Main Street alleged to police at 6:55 p.m. Monday, January 19th, that a woman left the store carrying a large shoulder bag, setting off the alarm.
The manager stopped the woman outside as she was entering a parked car and grabbed the large bag before the woman fled in the vehicle.
The bag contained a jacket, four dresses and five pairs of pants totaling $3,894. After the manager gave police the suspect’s vehicle description and license plate number, officers located the woman at her home in Venice.
The suspect was arrested and booked for commercial burglary.
ALLEGEDLY STOLE ITEMS FROM PARKED VEHICLE
Police were called to the 1600 block of Georgina Avenue at 4:10 a.m. Wednesday, January 21st, where an auto burglary was reported.
When officers arrived, they saw a man carrying a backpack who matched the description of the auto burglary suspect. As police attempted to detain the man, he fled on foot, causing officers to chase him on foot.
Police located the man in the 1400 block of San Vicente Boulevard and found that he was allegedly in possession of items that were apparently stolen from a vehicle parked on Georgina.
The suspect was arrested and booked for auto burglary and resisting arrest.
