SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR SWINGING BAT AT WOMAN

A woman in the 1500 block of Fourth Street told police at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 15th, that she got into an argument with a suspect and that during the argument he allegedly swung a bat at her, striking her on the finger.

The woman did not require medical treatment.

The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for assault with a deadly weapon.

MAN ALLEGEDLY STOLE LIQUOR, THREW BOTTLES

An employee at a store in the 3100 block of Wilshire Boulevard told police at 12:37 p.m. Saturday, July 15th, that a suspect allegedly entered the store, took liquor bottles and placed them in a green bag in a shopping cart.

When confronted by the employee, the suspect allegedly threw several liquor bottles at the employee, which fell to the ground and broke.

The suspect also allegedly pushed the shopping cart at the employee and attempted to flee but was taken into custody.

The estimated loss to the store was $745.45.

The suspect was arrested by police and booked in Santa Monica Jail for commercial burglary and probation violation.

ALLEGEDLY POSSESSED STOLEN IDENTIFICATION

Officers were on patrol in the 300 block of Santa Monica Boulevard at 6:12 a.m. Tuesday, July 18th, when they detained a suspect for trespassing at a store.

After detaining the suspect, police determined that he allegedly had stolen property in his possession, including credit cards and identification belonging to another person.

The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for possession of stolen property.

SUSPECT ALLEGEDLY HIT MAN, BROKE HIS RADIO

An employee at a store in the 300 block of the Santa Monica Pier told police at 7:32 p.m. Monday, July 17th, that he got into an argument with a suspect and during the argument, the suspect allegedly struck him and broke his radio, valued at $75.

The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for assault and battery.

ARRESTED FOR STEALING WALLET FROM WOMAN

A woman in the 300 block of Broadway alleged to police at 9:32 a.m. Tuesday, July 18th, that a suspect approached her from behind, took her wallet from her arm and fled on a skateboard.

Responding officers detained the suspect and $45 was recovered.

The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for grand theft from person.

ALLEGEDLY POSSESSED STOLEN CAMERA, PHONE

Police were called to the 1300 block of the Third Street Promenade at 1:25 p.m. Wednesday, July 19th, regarding a report of suspicious activity.

When officers arrived, they saw a man and a woman arguing. The woman alleged to police that the man was attempting to sell a camera that he had found.

Police checked the man’s property and determined that a camera and cell phone in his possession had allegedly been stolen from the beach the night before.

The digital camera was valued at $249 and the cell phone was valued at $199.

Officers removed the two items and contacted the owner.

The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for possession of stolen property.

BOOKED FOR STEALING ALCOHOL FROM STORE

Police were called to a store in the 1600 block of Cloverfield Boulevard at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, July 18th, where a theft suspect was in custody.

A store employee alleged to police that the suspect entered the store, stole bottles of liquor, placed them in a backpack and attempted to leave.

As the suspect was leaving, he allegedly got into a physical altercation with the employee but was later subdued and taken into custody.

The items taken, which were valued at $44.91, were recovered.

The suspect was arrested and taken to Santa Monica Jail, where he was booked for commercial burglary.
