ARRESTED FOR STEALING CLOTHING FROM STORE
Police were called to a store in the 1400 block of the Third Street Promenade at 7:50 p.m. Thursday, August 14th, where a theft suspect was being detained.
Employees alleged to officers that the suspect purchased some clothes and attempted to leave the store with some unpaid items that she concealed in her purse. The items were valued at $74.
Loss prevention agents detained the suspect outside and released her to police, who arrested and booked her for petty theft.
ALLEGEDLY THREATENED MAN FOR GAMBLING DEBT
A man reported at the Santa Monica police station at 6:46 a.m. Thursday, August 7th, that he had amassed a large gambling debt from an online site and two suspects who tried to collect the money threatened him.
After conducting an investigation, police arrested the two suspects in Marina del Rey and booked them for extortion, making criminal threats, possession of a concealed weapon, conspiracy to commit a crime and having outstanding warrants.
BOOKED FOR STEALING SHOES AT CLOTHING SALE
Police were called at 7:50 p.m. Friday, August 15th, to the Barker Hangar in the 3100 block of Airport Avenue, where a grand theft suspect was in custody.
Loss prevention agents alleged to police that the suspect took three pairs of shoes from a clothing sale, concealed them in a bag and left without paying. The shoes were valued at $717.
The agents detained the suspect outside the hangar and released him to police, who arrested the suspect and booked him for grand theft.
BOOKED FOR THROWING ROCK THROUGH WINDOW
Police were called to a coffee shop in the 2400 block of Santa Monica Boulevard at 5:10 a.m. Sunday, August 17th, where employees alleged that a suspect had thrown a rock through the front window of the shop.
The suspect was arrested and booked for vandalism and probation violation.
5 ARRESTED IN STABBING OF TWO MEN AT PIER
Police were called to the Santa Monica Pier at 1:22 a.m. Sunday, August 17th, regarding where two men alleged that a group of suspects had stabbed them during a fight. The victims were treated at a local hospital and released.
Officers stopped the suspects’ vehicle as they were leaving the pier parking lot and they were identified by the victims.
The five suspects were arrested and booked for attempted murder, promoting a criminal street gang and probation violation.
ALLEGEDLY HIT MAN WITH WOODEN POLE
Police were called at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 19th, to a residence in the 2000 block of Pico Boulevard, where a fight was reported between two roommates.
One of the roommates alleged to police that the other struck him with a wooden pole during the fight. The victim was not injured.
The suspect was arrested and booked for assault with a deadly weapon.
SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR STABBING MAN IN FINGER
A man at a fast food restaurant in the 1500 block of Second Street alleged to police at 9:45 p.m. Tuesday, August 19th, that a suspect stabbed him in the finger with a knife after a verbal confrontation.
Police located the suspect in the area, arrested him and booked him for assault with a deadly weapon.
ALLEGEDLY PUNCHED MAN WHO BUMPED HIM
A man in the 100 block of Colorado Avenue alleged to police at 4:23 p.m. Wednesday, August 20th, that a suspect punched him in the face after the man accidentally bumped into him while they were walking on the sidewalk.
Police located the suspect in the 1600 block of Ocean Front Walk, arrested him and booked him for assault and battery.
