MAN SLEEPING IN HOME BOOKED FOR VANDALISM

Police were called to a residence in the 1300 block of Palisades Beach Road at 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 13th, where a construction supervisor alleged that a suspect broke into a house that was under construction, damaged some windows and defecated on the floor. The supervisor gave police a description of the suspect, who had allegedly been sleeping in the home for several days.

The house had sustained about $2,000 in damage.

Police went to the home two days later and found the suspect, who was identified by the supervisor. The suspect was arrested and booked for burglary and vandalism.

CARETAKER ARRESTED

FOR FORGING CHECKS

Police were called to a residence in the 200 block of 21st Street at 2:30 p.m. Monday, May 12th, where a woman alleged that the caretaker of her elderly parents had been forging checks and cashing them, taking an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect, who was located by police and identified by the woman, was arrested and booked for theft, forgery, grand theft and burglary.

SUSPECT BOOKED FOR

ASSAULTING WOMAN

Witnesses in the area of Fifth and Bay Streets told police at 1:30 a.m. Sunday, May 18th, that they saw a man arguing with a woman on the street.

During the argument, the man allegedly threw the woman against a tree, picked her up off her feet and attempted to carry her to a parked vehicle. The woman did not require medical treatment.

When officers arrived at the scene, the suspect allegedly struggled with them before he was taken into custody.

The suspect was arrested and booked for kidnapping, domestic violence, resisting arrest and assault.

ALLEGEDLY TRIED TO HIT PARK RANGER WITH BELT

Police were called to the 1400 block of Palisades Park at 12:57 p.m. Monday, May 19th, where a park ranger told them that he saw a suspect with an open container of beer and attempted to pour out the beverage. As the ranger was pouring out the drink, the suspect attempted to walk away but the ranger stepped in front, preventing the suspect from leaving.

The suspect then removed his belt and allegedly swung the buckle end at the ranger. After the suspect again attempted to swing the belt, the ranger took him to the ground and called for assistance.

While they were on the ground, the suspect allegedly hit and kicked the ranger, who backed away and applied pepper spray to restrain the suspect until police arrived.

Police arrested the suspect and booked him in Santa Monica Jail for assault with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest.

ALLEGEDLY HIT GUARD WHO KNOCKED ON DOOR

A security guard at a supermarket in the 700 block of Broadway told police at 10:19 a.m. Wednesday, May 21st, that he had received several complaints from customers about a suspect using the restroom for an excessive amount of time.

When the guard knocked on the bathroom door and asked the suspect to leave, the suspect came out and began yelling at the guard.

The suspect then allegedly grabbed a tube of wrapping paper and hit the security guard, who used pepper spray to restrain the suspect until police arrived.

Police arrested the suspect and booked him for interfering with a business, assault and battery, parole violation and for having an outstanding warrant.
