ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT ON MAN WITH A KNIFE
Police were called at 4 p.m. Friday, October 3rd, to Second Street and Broadway, where an assault with a deadly weapon suspect was reported to be in the area.
A man alleged to officers that he saw a suspect who had assaulted his friend with a knife on August 16th. The victim sustained minor face lacerations.
After determining that the suspect matched the description given in the original police report, police detained the suspect in the area.
The suspect was arrested and booked for assault with a deadly weapon.
ARRESTED FOR HAVING BURGLARY TOOLS IN BAG
Officers on patrol in the 1100 block of Court Nine at 10:32 p.m. Friday, October 3rd, saw a suspect riding a bicycle in the alley without proper lighting.
Police stopped the suspect on the bike and determined that he was on parole. After searching the suspect, police found a screwdriver and a pair of bolt cutters inside a bag he was carrying.
The suspect was arrested and booked for possession of burglary tools and parole violation.
ALLEGEDLY HAD CABLE CUTTERS IN PARKING LOT
Police on patrol in the 2800 block of Nielson Way at 2:32 a.m. Sunday, October 5th, saw a suspect walking back and forth in the parking lot.
After talking with the suspect, police determined that he did not have a vehicle in the lot. Police asked the suspect for permission to search him and found a pair of cable cutters in his backpack. Knowing that that type of cable cutters is typically used to cut locks, police detained the suspect.
He was arrested and booked for possession of burglary tools.
ALLEGEDLY PUT GRAFFITI ON ARCADE WINDOWS
Officers working on Santa Monica Pier at 9:50 p.m. Sunday, October 5th, were flagged down by a security guard for the arcade who alleged that he saw a suspect etching graffiti onto glass windows at the arcade.
The suspect then fled the arcade, but another security guard located the suspect in the area and detained him until police arrived.
Police arrested the suspect and booked him for vandalism.
ARRESTED FOR STEALING RECYCLABLES FROM CAN
An officer on patrol in the 1800 block of Lincoln Court at 4:26 p.m. Monday, October 6th, saw a suspect in a vehicle removing recyclables from a city container.
The officer contacted the suspect and determined that he was allegedly driving without a license and had a registration sticker that belonged to another vehicle.
The suspect was arrested and booked for theft of recyclables, possession of stolen property and for driving without a license.
2 BOOKED FOR FIGHTING MAN; ONE WITH CANE
Police were called at 7:20 a.m. Sunday, October 5th, to the 1600 block of Ocean Front Walk, where a fight was reported.
A man alleged to officers that he had a fight with two suspects and one of them hit him in the head with a cane. The victim sustained lacerations to his head.
Police located the two suspects at the scene and arrested them. One suspect was booked for assault with a deadly weapon and the other was booked for public intoxication and fighting in public.
