SUSPECT ALLEGEDLY SPAT, SWUNG AT MAN

A man in the 1150 block of Pacific Coast Highway alleged to police at 10:51 a.m. Friday, May 5th, that while he was doing gardening work with a weed whacker, a suspect approached him and spat at him for an unknown reason.

When the man asked the suspect why he spat at him, the suspect allegedly just walked away.

The man then got into his vehicle and as he was leaving, the suspect reappeared and allegedly swung a large stick at him.

The man drove away and called police, who later arrested the suspect and booked him in Santa Monica Jail for assault with a deadly weapon.

POSSESSING STOLEN HAT

Police on patrol in the 1700 block of 14th Street at 7:05 p.m. Sunday, May 7th, stopped a man for allegedly drinking in public.

The officers attempted to identify the man but were unable to. During a search of the man, officers allegedly recovered a hat that still had a security sensor from a store attached to it.

The suspect told police that he did not steal the hat but found it. Officers contacted a store employee, who reportedly identified the hat as stolen.

The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for possession of stolen property.

ARRESTED FOR TAKING CASH FROM TWO PEOPLE

Two people in the 1300 block of Wilshire Boulevard told police at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 5th, that they were counting money when a suspect approached them.

The suspect allegedly bumped one of the victims, grabbed some money and fled.

Officers located the suspect and recovered $6.25 that was allegedly taken from the victims.

The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for grand theft from a person.

BOOKED FOR STEALING CLOTHING FROM STORE

Police were called to a store in the 1400 block of the Third Street Promenade at 9:25 p.m. Saturday, May 6th, regarding a theft investigation.

A store loss prevention officer alleged to police that a woman entered the store, removed some clothing from a rack, placed the clothing in her purse and pants and left without paying.

When the suspect left the store, an alarm was activated and she was detained.

The clothing, valued at $288, was recovered.

The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for petty theft.

ALLEGEDLY HIT MAN WHILE HOLDING KNIFE

A man in the 1500 block of Court 10 alleged to police at 5:50 p.m. Tuesday, May 9th, that a suspect approached him, struck him several times while holding a knife and fled.

The victim, who sustained minor abrasions, did not request medical treatment.

The suspect, who was later located by police, was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for assault with a deadly weapon.

TAKING ALCOHOL

A store employee in the 1500 block of Lincoln Boulevard told police at 6:49 p.m. Wednesday, May 10th, that two suspects allegedly entered the store, stole bottles of alcohol and left without paying for them.

As the suspects left the store, one of the suspects allegedly gave the other suspect two bottles of alcohol in an attempt to confuse employees.

The suspects were detained and the alcohol, valued at $59.96, was recovered.

The suspects were arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for commercial burglary.

BOOKED FOR STEALING ITEMS FROM VEHICLE

A man in the 1100 block of Broadway alleged to police at 3:32 p.m. Wednesday, May 10th, that he had seen a suspect inside his car taking items.

When the man confronted the suspect, the suspect ran away.

Officers later detained the suspect in the 1300 block of Tenth Street. The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for auto burglary.

ALLEGEDLY BROKE INTO CARS AND STOLE TOOLS

A man in the 900 block of Second Street told police at 5:05 p.m. Wednesday, May 10th, that a suspect allegedly stole tools from several vehicles parked in an underground parking garage by breaking the rear windows and entering the vehicles.

The items taken were valued at $150.

The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for auto burglary.

MAN ALLEGEDLY STOLE WATCH FROM STORE

A store loss prevention officer in the 300 block of Colorado Avenue told police at 7:44 p.m. Saturday, May 6th, that a suspect allegedly entered the store, select- ed a watch valued at $39.98 from the display table, concealed the watch in his pants pocket and left without paying.

The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for petty theft.
