EMPLOYEE ALLEGEDLY STOLE HALLOWEEN MASK

Police were called to a store in the 3200 block of Wilshire Boulevard at 9 p.m. Tuesday, October 17th, where a theft suspect was in custody.

A store manager alleged to officers that a store employee had stolen a Halloween mask and placed it in her car.

The manager approached the employee, who then allegedly admitted to taking the $69.38 mask without paying for it.

Police arrested the suspect and booked her in Santa Monica Jail for petty theft.

MAN ALLEGEDLY RAPED WOMAN IN RESIDENCE

Police were called to a residence in the 2300 block of 28th Street at 2:48 a.m. Tuesday, October 17th, where a rape had been reported.

A woman alleged to officers that her friend, with whom she had had a prior relationship, raped her.

After the woman provided police with the suspect’s home address, officers went to the residence and arrested him.

The suspect was taken to Santa Monica Jail and booked for rape.

ARRESTED FOR HITTING MAN WITH METAL PIPE

A man in the 1600 block of Berkeley Street told police at 6:55 p.m. Monday, October 16th, that he got into an argument with a suspect, who allegedly hit him several times with an 11-inch-long metal pipe and fled.

The victim received an abrasion to the top of his head.

While officers were at the location, the suspect returned and was arrested.

The suspect was taken to Santa Monica Jail, where he was booked for assault with a deadly weapon.

SUSPECT BOOKED FOR RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

Police were called to an apartment building in the 3000 block of Main Street at 3:30 p.m. Monday, October 16th, regarding a burglary in progress.

When officers arrived, they noticed that one of the apartment windows was broken and they could hear noise coming from within the apartment.

Officers then saw a suspect leave the apartment a few minutes later.

The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for burglary and possession of stolen property.

WOMAN ARRESTED FOR RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

Police were called to an apartment building in the 2100 block of 20th Street at 4 p.m. Sunday, October 15th, regarding a burglary in progress.

When officers arrived, they noticed that the rear window of an apartment was open and they could hear noise coming from within the apartment.

Officers contained the area and saw a suspect leave the apartment a few minutes later.

The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for burglary.

Police say they had detained the same suspect earlier in the day at the apartment building after receiving a call about a suspicious person, but she was not arrested at that time.

ALLEGEDLY HAD STOLEN PHONE, VIDEO PLAYER

Police were called to the area of Main and Bay Streets at 6:45 p.m. Saturday, October 14th, regarding a report of an intoxicated man passed out on a Big Blue Bus.

When officers arrived, they detained the man and later determined that he was allegedly in possession of a stolen cell phone and video game player.

The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for possession of stolen property.

ARRESTED FOR STRIKING MAN WITH SLAB OF WOOD

A man in the 700 block of Santa Monica Boulevard told police at 2:35 a.m. Saturday, October 14th, that he got into an argument with a suspect over sleep- ng arrangements on the sidewalk.

The suspect then allegedly picked up a piece of wood and struck the victim in the arm.

The victim, whose arm became swollen, called police.

The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for assault with a deadly weapon.

BOOKED FOR STEALING PURSE AT RESTAURANT

Police were called to a restaurant in the 2400 block of Colorado Avenue at 7:20 p.m. Friday, October 13th, where a theft had been reported.

A woman alleged to officers that she had been sitting in the restaurant and met a man, but when she left the table for a few minutes and returned, both her purse and the man were gone.

Further investigation led police to the suspect’s Los Angeles residence, where he was arrested.

The purse, which had approximately $4,000 worth of jewelry and money inside, was recovered.

The suspect was booked in Santa Monica Jail for grand theft.

ALLEGEDLY TRIED TO CHOKE WOMAN IN ALLEY

A woman in an alley near the 500 block of Colorado Avenue told police at 8:05 p.m. Friday, October 13th, that she and another person were trying to find a place to sleep when they got into an argument.

The suspect then allegedly grabbed the woman’s neck and tried to choke her, but the woman was able to free herself and call police.

Police arrested the suspect at the scene and booked him in Santa Monica Jail for assault with a deadly weapon.
