MAN ALLEGEDLY BROKE INTO CLOSED BUSINESS

An employee at a business in the 800 block of Wilshire Boulevard alleged to police at 6 a.m. Friday, July 28th, that an unknown suspect had entered the business when it was closed and removed approximately $250 worth of merchandise and money.

Officers reviewed video surveillance tapes and saw the suspect, who was later identified in Palisades Park.

The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for commercial burglary.

BOOKED FOR THROWING RADIO AT NEIGHBOR

A woman in the 1400 block of 12th Street alleged to police at 6:40 p.m. Friday, July 28th, that a neighbor, who lives above her, threw a radio out his window at her because of an ongoing dispute.

The radio did not strike the woman and she was not injured.

Officers later arrested the suspect and booked him in Santa Monica Jail for assault with a deadly weapon and parole violation.

BOOKED FOR ASSAULTING MAN OVER PARKING FEE

A man in the 100 block of Wilshire Boulevard told police at 10:47 p.m. Friday, July 28th, that he got into an argument with a customer regarding a charge of parking.

The customer was apparently upset about a parking fee and allegedly pushed the man to the ground and yelled.

The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for assault and battery.

TWO HELD ON CHARGES OF VEHICLE THEFT

Police on patrol in the 1700 block of Ocean Avenue at 1:56 a.m. Saturday, July 29th, checked a vehicle license plate number and were notified by police dispatch that the vehicle was reported stolen.

Officers stopped the vehicle, which had two occupants inside. The suspects were arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for auto theft.

ARRESTED FOR STEALING SANDWICH AND SODA

An employee at a store in the 1500 block of Lincoln Boulevard alleged to police at 4:52 p.m. Sunday, July 30th, that a suspect entered the store, ordered a sandwich, and when he received it, he placed it in a backpack with a soda and left without paying.

The loss to the store was $10.64.

Once the suspect was outside the store he was confronted by an employee, who notified police.

The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for theft.

MAN ALLEGEDLY STOLE ALCOHOL FROM STORE

A store employee in the 3100 block of Wilshire Boulevard alleged to police at 6:06 p.m. Sunday, July 30th, that a suspect entered the store, placed alcoholic beverages valued at $47.98 in a shopping cart and left without paying.

The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for commercial burglary.

ARRESTED FOR PUNCHING MAN DURING ARGUMENT

Police were called to the 1400 block of Ninth Street at 9:26 a.m. Monday, July 31st, where a dispute over a water hose was reported.

A man told officers that he was involved in an argument with a suspect and that during the argument, the suspect allegedly punched him several times in the face.

The argument was apparently regarding an ongoing dispute.

The man received facial lacerations and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for assault.

MAN ALLEGEDLY HAD OTHER MAN’S BRIEFCASE

Police were called to the 700 block of Colorado Avenue at 9:45 a.m. Monday, July 31st, regarding a report of a man urinating in public.

When officers arrived at the scene and detained the man, they discovered that he was also allegedly in possession of a briefcase that belonged to another person.

Officers attempted to contact the owner of the briefcase to determine if it was lost or stolen. The investigation in continuing.

SUSPECT BOOKED FOR STEALING BOLT CUTTERS

An employee in the 500 block of Olympic Drive alleged to police at 2:13 p.m. Tuesday, August 1st, that a suspect entered, took a pair of bolt cutters from under a desk and left without paying.

The suspect, who was allegedly in possession of the bolt cutters, was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for petty theft.
