SUSPECT CHARGED WITH ASSAULTING WOMAN

A woman in the vicinity of Neilson Way and Pico Boulevard alleged to police at 7:53 p.m. Thursday, April 20th, that she saw a suspect strike another woman with his hands, fists and feet.

The woman directed officers to the location of the suspect, but the victim, who left the scene prior to the arrival of police, was not located.

The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for assault with a deadly weapon and probation violation.

ALLEGEDLY TRIED TO OPEN WOMAN’S VEHICLE DOOR

Police were called to the 1200 block of 22nd Street at 2:23 p.m. Saturday, April 22nd, regarding a report of a man annoying customers.

Officers contacted the suspect, who allegedly had an outstanding warrant for $26,000 worth of traffic violations.

During the investigation, a woman approached the officers and alleged that the suspect had approached her car and attempted to open the door of the vehicle.

The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for auto tampering and the outstanding traffic warrant.

ALLEGEDLY POSSESSED STOLEN PROPERTY

A woman in the 1100 block of Fourth Street told police at 2:40 a.m. Sunday, April 23rd, that she heard the sound of someone tampering with vehicles parked in the alley.

When officers arrived, they saw a man wearing dark clothing in the alley leaving the rear of the woman’s apartment building.

During a “pat down” search of the man, officers allegedly recovered a switchblade and a cell phone in the man’s possession.

The man alleged that he did not know who the owner of the cell phone was, and officers later determined that the cell phone had been lost three days earlier in Los Angeles.

The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for possession of a switchblade, possession of stolen property and probation violation.

FORMER EMPLOYEE BOOKED FOR BURGLARY

A store owner in the 3100 block of Santa Monica Boulevard told police at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 23rd, that while he was on vacation, a former employee of the store allegedly stole clothing valued at $1,060 from the store.

Officers contacted the suspect, who allegedly admitted to the theft.

The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for burglary.

SUSPECTS BOOKED

FOR ASSAULTING MAN

A man in the 300 block of Santa Monica Boulevard alleged to police at 6:47 p.m. Monday, April 24th, that while he was walking, two suspects approached him and began to kick and strike at him, for an unknown reason, using their hands and feet.

The man sustained a laceration and contusion and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The suspects were arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for assault with a deadly weapon.

ALLEGEDLY RUMMAGED THROUGH A CAR NOT HIS

A man in the 1500 block of Ocean Avenue told police at 6:38 p.m. Tuesday, April 25th, that a suspect allegedly entered his locked vehicle, drank a Red Bull and rummaged through the vehicle looking for property.

The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for auto burglary and felony probation violation.

ALLEGEDLY HAD STOLEN PROPERTY IN BACKPACK

Officers on patrol in the 1400 block of the Third Street Promenade at 4:20 p.m. Wednesday, April 26th, saw a woman allegedly riding a bicycle on the Promenade, which is a violation of a municipal code.

Police had been in prior contact with the woman and asked if she was in possession of narcotics, to which she allegedly replied yes.

Officers asked to search the woman’s backpack and allegedly removed two bags of marijuana from inside.

They also found a laptop Apple computer inside the backpack and discovered that the computer was reported stolen during a residential burglary.

The suspect was arrested and taken to Santa Monica Jail, where she was booked for possession of stolen property.
