ALLEGEDLY DAMAGED ARM OF PARKING GATE

A parking booth attendant at a parking structure in the 1300 block of Second Street told police at 11:47 p.m. Monday, December 5th, that he got into an argument with a suspect who allegedly refused to pay a $42 parking fee.

The suspect allegedly got out of his vehicle, went to the parking gate arm and physically lifted the gate arm upward, breaking it.

The suspect then allegedly got into his vehicle and left the parking structure without paying.

The damage to the parking gate arm is estimated at $842.

The suspect was not apprehended, but the parking booth employee gave police a description of the suspect and the vehicle license plate number.

The investigation is continuing.

ARRESTED FOR PETTY THEFT OF BRACELET

Police were called to a store in the 100 block of Santa Monica Place at 7:57 p.m. Wednesday, December 7th, where a theft suspect was in custody.

A store loss prevention officer told police that a suspect allegedly entered the store, removed a $50 bracelet from a shelf, placed the bracelet in his front pocket and left without paying.

The suspect was arrested outside the store and released to police, who booked him in Santa Monica Jail for petty theft.

BOOKED FOR A SERIES OF BURGLARIES FROM STORE

Police were called to a store in the 1900 block of Wilshire Boulevard at 6:44 p.m. Thursday, December 8th, where a store loss prevention officer told police that a suspect allegedly entered the store, concealed an item near the exit and left the store.

The suspect then allegedly returned to the store five minutes later, removed a jacket from the children’s department and left without paying.

The suspect was apprehended outside of the store. During the interview process, the suspect said he had been to the store several times before and allegedly stole $206.89 worth of merchandise.

Police allegedly recovered two jackets, five shirts and a dress from inside the suspect’s vehicle. The total store loss was $236.39.

The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for commercial burglary.

BOOKED FOR STEALING LUNCH FROM STORE

A store employee in the 700 block of Montana Avenue alleged to police at 9:50 a.m. Friday, December 9th, that a suspect entered the store, removed a sandwich and soda, placed the items, valued at $7.45, inside a backpack and left without paying.

The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for theft.

ALLEGEDLY TRIED RIDING AWAY ON STOLEN BIKE

Police were called to a carport in the 2000 block of 20th Street at 11:36 a.m. Friday, December 9th, where a man told police that he saw a suspect allegedly ride away on his $350 bicycle that was taken from the secured carport.

The man confronted the suspect and retrieved his bicycle, but the suspect fled on foot.

The suspect was later arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for residential burglary.

ALLEGEDLY GAVE STOLEN GIFT CARDS TO FRIEND

Police were called to a store in the 100 block of Santa Monica Place at 8:52 p.m. Saturday, December 10th, regarding a theft report.

A store loss prevention officer told police that a store employee was apprehended for allegedly stealing gift cards and giving them away to her friend.

The total estimated store loss was $783.

The store employee and her friend were arrested and taken to Santa Monica Jail, where they were booked for burglary and conspiracy.
