MAN ARRESTED FOR ALLEGEDLY KICKING, CRACKING GLASS DOOR

An employee in the 2700 block of Wilshire Boulevard called police at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 4th, to report an incident of malicious mischief that had just occurred.

When police arrived they spoke to the employee, who alleged that a man had become belligerent when he was refused alcohol at the establishment due to his alleged intoxication.

The employee alleged that the suspect then kicked and cracked a glass door at the establishment.

Police arrested the suspect and booked him in Santa Monica Jail on charges of public intoxication and malicious mischief.

The damage to the glass door was estimated at $3,000.

SUSPECT ALLEGEDLY ROBBED MAN OF $2

A man in the 1500 block of Palisades Park was arrested at around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 5th, for allegedly taking two dollars from a victim.

The victim told police that the suspect approached him, demanded his money, took two dollars from the victim and fled on foot.

Police searched the area and found the suspect. He was booked in Santa Monica Jail for strong-arm robbery and probation violation.

WOMAN SAYS SHE WAS PUNCHED IN BACK FOR

UNKNOWN REASONS

Police were called to the 300 block of Wilshire Boulevard at 1 a.m. Saturday, January 1st, regarding an assault-and-battery that had just occurred.

When officers arrived on the scene they spoke to the victim, who said that a man had approached her and allegedly struck her in the back with his fist for unknown reasons.

Police found the man, arrested him and booked him in Santa Monica Jail on charges of public intoxication and assault-and-battery.

The woman was not injured.

PETTY THEFT

An employee of a store in Santa Monica Place called police at 7:10 p.m. on Thursday, December 30th, to report a petty theft that had just occurred.

When police arrived they spoke to a loss prevention officer, who said that the suspect had entered the store, selected a shirt and allegedly put it under the shirt he was wearing.

The suspect then allegedly selected a belt, put it on his pants and walked out of the store without paying for the items.

The suspect was detained by the loss prevention officer, who released the suspect to police.

The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail on charges of petty theft.

The recovered clothing was valued at $44.99.

ATTEMPT TO STEAL CDS

A man in the 300 block of Santa Monica Boulevard was arrested at around 12:30 p.m. Monday, January 3rd, for allegedly attempting to steal CDs from a store.

Police spoke to an employee, who said that the suspect allegedly ripped off the security tags from the CDs, concealed the CDs under his jacket and left the store without paying for the merchandise.

Police booked the suspect in Santa Monica Jail on charges of petty theft.

The recovered CDs were valued at $78.

CHECK FRAUD ARREST

Police were called to the 2700 block of Wilshire Boulevard at 3:45 p.m. Friday, December 31st, regarding a fraud investigation.

When police arrived, they spoke to an employee at a bank, who said that a woman attempted to cash fraudulent checks.

The woman was arrested by police and booked in Santa Monica Jail on fraudulent check and false identification charges.
