ARRESTED FOR AUTO THEFT

Santa Monica police stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation in the 2900 block of Lincoln Boulevard at 1:05 p.m. Sunday, July 24th.

Police checked the vehicle’s license plate number, which identified the vehicle as stolen according to officers at the Los Angeles Police Department Pacific Community Police Station.

The driver of the vehicle was arrested and taken to Santa Monica Jail, where he was booked for auto theft.

ALLEGEDLY TRIED TO

HEAD-BUTT OFFICER

Police were called to the 200 block of Hollister Avenue at 4:23 p.m. Sunday, July 24th, where a fight had reportedly occurred between two alleged transients.

Police spoke to one of the alleged transients and arrested him for public intoxication.

When the suspect was being booked at Santa Monica Jail, he allegedly attempted to head-butt the booking officer.

The suspect was booked for assault and battery in addition to the public intoxication charge.

ARRESTED AT STORE

FOR STEALING DOG LEASH

Police responded to the 100 block of Broadway at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, July 24th, where an employee alleged that a suspect walked into the store, removed a tan nylon dog leash from the merchandise rack and left the store without paying.

The dog leash was valued at $24.99.

The suspect was arrested by a loss prevention officer and later released to police, who booked the suspect in Santa Monica Jail for theft.

ACCUSED OF STRIKING WOMAN WITH BROOMSTICK

A woman in the 2400 block of Ocean Park Boulevard told police at 12:06 p.m. Monday, July 25th, that a suspect allegedly struck the woman with a broomstick for an unknown reason.

The woman was not injured.

The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for assault with a deadly weapon.

EMPLOYEE ARRESTED

FOR STEALING SHOES

Police responded to the 1300 block of the Third Street Promenade at 3:15 p.m. Monday, July 25th, where a store manager alleged that a store employee had shipped shoes from the store to the employee’s residence without paying for the items.

Preliminary police investigation revealed that the employee had allegedly shipped shoes to her residence on nine separate occasions.

The total value of the shoes was estimated at $1,179.

The employee was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for grand theft.

BOOKED FOR STRIKING

MAN IN FACE AND HEAD

A man in the 1500 block of Lincoln Boulevard told police at 4:06 p.m. Monday, July 25th, that a suspect who was allegedly intoxicated, approached the man and struck him in the face and head three or four times for an unknown reason.

The suspect was arrested and taken to Santa Monica Jail, where he was booked for assault and battery.
