ARRESTED FOR BREAKING INTO VENDING MACHINE

A woman in the 800 block of Santa Monica Boulevard told police at 3:27 a.m. Thursday, July 14th, that she heard noises coming from an automotive dealership at Ninth Street and Santa Monica Boulevard.

When police arrived, they saw several suspects in the parking lot bent down behind several vehicles.

Police then saw the suspects allegedly break into a vending machine in the parking lot.

The four suspects were arrested and taken to Santa Monica Jail, where they were booked for felony vandalism.

ALLEGEDLY TOUCHED MAN’S GENITALIA

A man told police that in the 1500 block of Santa Monica Beach at 5:35 a.m. Thursday, July 14th, while he was sleeping, another man allegedly touched the victim’s genitalia area, causing him to awaken.

The two then became involved in a fight.

The suspect was arrested and taken to Santa Monica Jail where he was booked for sexual battery.

STEALING SANDWICH

Police responded to the 1500 block of Lincoln Boulevard at 12:41 p.m. Thursday, July 14th, where an employee said that a suspect allegedly entered the store, ordered a sandwich and walked out of the store without paying.

The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for petty theft.

THEFT OF CD

Police responded to the 300 block of Santa Monica Boulevard at 8:28 p.m. Friday, July 15th, where an employee said that a suspect allegedly entered the store, removed a CD off the shelf, removed the security sensor off the CD and left the store without paying for the CD.

The suspect was arrested outside the store and booked in Santa Monica Jail for petty theft.

STEALING MEN’S CLOTHES

Police responded to the 300 block of Colorado Avenue at 7:37 p.m. Saturday, July 16th, where loss prevention officers had a theft suspect in custody.

Loss prevention officers told police that the suspect allegedly entered the store, took men’s pants and shirts from the men’s section of the store and left without paying for the items.

The suspect was arrested by loss prevention officers outside the store and later released to police. The suspect was booked in Santa Monica Jail for petty theft.

GRAND THEFT AUTO

Police stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation in the 1600 block of Seventh Street at 9:08 a.m. Tuesday, July 12th.

Officers spoke to the driver and later determined that the vehicle’s license plates had been stolen. Police checked the vehicle identification number, which revealed that the vehicle also had been stolen.

The driver was arrested and taken to Santa Monica Jail, where he was booked for grand theft auto.

ALLEGEDLY ASSAULTED MAN WITH KNIFE

A man in the 1800 block of Ninth Street told police at 4:10 p.m. Tuesday, July 12th, that a suspect allegedly assaulted the man with a knife for an unknown reason.

The man was not injured.

The suspect was arrested and taken to Santa Monica Jail, where he was booked for assault with a deadly weapon.
