SUBSTANCE IN DRINK

An officer on patrol in the 2900 block of Main Street at 12:12 a.m. Friday, January 6th, was notified by a bar employee that an intoxicated woman was being placed into a vehicle.

Officers located the woman and called paramedics, who transported the woman to a local hospital for treatment.

Preliminary investigation indicated that a male suspect who was with the woman allegedly put an unknown substance into her drink and a short time later she became ill.

The suspect was arrested and taken to Santa Monica Jail, where he was booked for poisoning and kidnapping. His bail was set at $1 million.

The investigation is ongoing.

MAN ON SKATEBOARD

ALLEGEDLY STOLE PURSE

A woman in the area of 26th Street and Santa Monica Boulevard told police at 11:31 a.m. Friday, January 6th, that while she was seated at a bus stop bench a suspect allegedly grabbed her purse and rode away on a skateboard.

The suspect was stopped in the 1400 block of Berkeley Street and allegedly identified by the woman.

The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for grand theft.

BOOKED FOR STEALING BRACELET AND JACKET

Police were called to a store in the 100 block of Santa Monica Place at 1:35 p.m. Saturday, January 7th, where a theft suspect was in custody.

A store loss prevention officer told police that a suspect allegedly entered the store, stole a bracelet and a jacket valued at $154 and left without paying.

The suspect was arrested outside the store and booked in Santa Monica Jail for petty theft.

SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR PUNCHING MAN IN RIBS

A store employee in the 800 block of Montana Avenue told police at 2:35 p.m. Saturday, January 7th, that a suspect approached him and asked for matches.

When the employee said that he had no matches, the suspect allegedly punched the employee in the ribs and fled.

The suspect was stopped in the 1100 block of Alley 8 and allegedly identified by the employee.

The employee did not require medical treatment.

Police arrested the suspect and booked him in Santa Monica Jail for assault and battery and probation violation.

CHARGED WITH PETTY THEFT OF CLOTHING

Police were called to a store in the 1400 block of the Third Street Promenade at 4:20 p.m. Saturday, January 7th, where a theft suspect was in custody.

A store loss prevention officer told police that a suspect allegedly entered the store, removed $120 worth of clothing and left without paying.

The suspect was arrested outside the store and released to police, who booked her in Santa Monica Jail for petty theft.

EARRINGS FROM STORE

Police were called to a store in the 100 block of Santa Monica Place at 5:04 p.m. Monday, January 9th, where a theft suspect was in custody.

A store loss prevention officer alleged to police that a suspect had taken earrings valued at $13 and left without paying.

The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for petty theft.

PETTY THEFT ARREST

Police were called to a store in the 100 block of Santa Monica Place at 9:17 p.m. Monday, January 9th, where a theft suspect was in custody.

A store loss prevention officer alleged to police that a suspect entered the store, removed merchandise valued at $9.99 from a small box, placed the item under a blanket and left without paying.

The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for petty theft.

ALLEGEDLY CUT MAN

WITH GLASS BOTTLE

Police were called to the area of Fifth Street and Arizona Avenue at 2:18 a.m. Wednesday, January 11th, regarding an assault investigation.

Two men told police that they got into an argument with two suspects and during the argument a suspect allegedly began to hit one of the men and used a glass bottle to cut the man from his ear to his chin.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The two suspects were arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for assault with a deadly weapon.

BOOKED FOR PUSHING

AND SPITTING ON MAN

A man in the 100 block of Broadway alleged to police at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, January 11th, that while he was inside a store, a suspect became belligerent and was intoxicated.

When the man asked the suspect to leave, the suspect allegedly pushed the man and spat on him. When a store employee intervened, the suspect also allegedly struck the employee and fled.

The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for assault and battery.
