RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

A woman in the 1200 block of Tenth Street at 10:20 p.m. Sunday, June 5th, told police that she heard the sound of a screen ripping, but did not see anything when she checked her bathroom.

The woman said she later saw a suspect allegedly standing in the bathroom. The suspect ran out of the residence when the woman screamed.

The suspect was stopped in the area of Fifth Street and Olympic Boulevard and was positively identified by the woman. The suspect was taken to Santa Monica Jail and booked for burglary.

PUNCHED IN THE FACE

Two people got into an argument in the area of Lincoln Boulevard and Grant Street at 11:29 p.m. Sunday, June 5th, where a victim was on a public payphone. During the argument, the other person allegedly struck the victim in the face.

The victim called 9-1-1 and police arrested the suspect and took him to Santa Monica Jail, where he was booked for assault and battery.

ALLEGEDLY STOLE PURSE

A woman said that a male suspect who was outside her vehicle allegedly opened the front passenger door, stole her purse and fled in the 1400 block of Ocean Avenue at 12:41 p.m. Monday, June 6th.

The suspect was later arrested by police and taken to Santa Monica Jail, where he was booked for grand theft.

ALLEGEDLY DROVE

STOLEN VEHICLE

Police stopped a vehicle in the 300 block of Strand Street at 12:19 p.m. Monday, June 6th, and saw that there was no key in the ignition. Police determined that the vehicle was an unreported stolen car. The vehicle’s driver and passenger were arrested and taken to Santa Monica Jail, where they were booked for driv-ing a stolen vehicle.

ALLEGEDLY STOLE BIKINI

A store employee told police that a woman allegedly entered the store in the 600 block of Wilshire Boulevard at 4:45 p.m. Monday, June 6th, stole a bikini swimsuit valued at $82 and left without paying.

The employee then stopped the woman, who pushed the employee when trying to escape.

The woman was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for strong-arm robbery.

ALLEGED ASSAULT

WITH FIST AND CRUTCH

A victim told police that a male suspect allegedly approached the victim in the area of Lincoln and Santa Monica Boulevards at 11:03 a.m. Tuesday, June 7th, asking for change.

The suspect then allegedly assaulted the victim, using a fist and crutch.

The suspect fled but was later arrested by police and booked in Santa Monica Jail for assault.

ALLEGEDLY BROKE

INTO CHURCH

Police responded to the 1200 block of Fourth Street at 3:56 a.m. Thursday, June 9th, where two people were arguing.

Officers spoke to one of the people, who is a security guard for the church. The security guard alleged that the other person broke into the church and attempted to take money and food.

The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for burglary.

RAPE OF

AN UNCONSCIOUS WOMAN

Three witnesses alleged to police that a man had had sex with an unconscious woman in the area of Fifth Street and Broadway at 3:55 a.m. Sunday, June 12th.

The man was detained and a preliminary investigation alleged that he had had sex with the woman, who became unconscious after they had been drinking together.

The suspect was arrested and taken to Santa Monica Jail, where he was booked for rape.
