ALLEGEDLY TRIED TO BREAK INTO CARS

Police were called to a motel in the 1700 block of Ocean Avenue at 1:30 a.m. Friday, March 30th, regarding a report of a suspicious person.

Witnesses alleged to police that they had seen a suspect in the rear parking lot of the motel looking into parked cars and he was also unscrewing light bulbs to make the area dark.

When officers arrived, they saw the suspect in the carport area and he allegedly told them he was waiting for a friend.

Through further investigation, police determined that the suspect had a pair of gloves and a flashlight in his possession.

Police arrested the suspect and booked him in Santa Monica Jail for attempted burglary and probation violation.

ALLEGEDLY ASSAULTED UNDERCOVER OFFICER

Police were called to a bar in the 2800 block of Pico Boulevard at 1 a.m. Saturday, March 31st, where a fight was in progress.

When officers arrived, they saw a victim who was restraining a suspect on the ground. The victim had walked outside of the bar and seen a fight that was about to take place between the suspect and another person.

The suspect was allegedly holding a pen and making a stabbing motion toward the person, when the victim, who was an undercover officer, intervened.

The suspect then began to threaten the victim with the pen, but when the victim identified himself as an officer, the suspect dropped the pen and continued to challenge the victim to fight.

The victim then restrained the suspect until police arrived, but was allegedly punched in the face by the suspect.

Police arrested the suspect and booked him in Santa Monica Jail for assault with a deadly weapon.

ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT ON VALET ATTENDANT

Police were called to the 2400 block of Wilshire Boulevard at 2 a.m. Saturday, March 31st, regarding an assault and battery investigation.

A valet attendant told police that a suspect and several of his friends came to get their car back but when the car was returned, the suspect allegedly said that there was a scratch on the car.

The suspect and valet attendant then began to argue, at which point the suspect allegedly punched the attendant in the face and fled.

Officers detained the suspect in the area of 26th Street and Arizona Avenue.

He was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for assault and battery.

SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR VEHICULAR BURGLARY

A woman in the 600 block of 25th Street alleged to police at 4:15 a.m. Saturday, March 31st, that she heard her car alarm sound and when she looked outside she saw a suspect fleeing from her vehicle.

When officers arrived, they saw the suspect come out of the bushes in the 2600 block of 26th Street and detained him.

Police searched the suspect and found that he allegedly had a pair of gloves, a flashlight and a container of hand wipes valued at $4 in his possession.

The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for auto burglary.

BOOKED FOR ASSAULTING MAN WITH LEATHER WHIP

Officers on patrol in the 400 block of Pico Boulevard at 11:30 p.m. Saturday, March 31st, were flagged down by a man who was bleeding from his face and screaming.

The man told officers that he had called an escort service and when the escort arrived, he agreed to pay her $200 to be his escort for the night.

The two then began to argue, at which point, the escort yelled to her bodyguard and told him she had a problem.

The bodyguard then allegedly went up to the man, pulled out a leather whip and struck him several times in the face and upper body.

They then went outside and the suspect allegedly continued to hit the man with the whip until police were notified.

The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for assault with a deadly weapon.

SUSPECT BOOKED FOR DRIVING STOLEN VEHICLE

Officers on patrol in the 2700 block of Santa Monica Boulevard at 11:40 p.m. Saturday, March 31st, stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation and for not having a license plate.

Police determined that the vehicle was allegedly stolen. Officers searched the vehicle and also found that the driver allegedly had drug paraphernalia and wire cutters in his possession.

The driver was arrested and booked for possession of burglary tools, driving a stolen vehicle and for possession of drug paraphernalia.
