ARRESTED FOR STEALING CLOTHING FROM STORE

Police were called to a store in the 2900 block of Main Street at 12:35 p.m. Wednesday, May 23rd, where store employees told them that a suspect walked into the store, looked around the store and inquired about the price of some dresses.

When the suspect apparently thought that no one was watching, she allegedly put the items into her purse, looked around the store again and then left without paying.

The items, which included two dresses and a T-shirt, were valued at $659.

A security officer detained the suspect once she was outside the store and took her back inside, where she allegedly admitted to taking the tags off the items and putting them into her purse.

Police arrested the suspect and booked her in Santa Monica Jail for grand theft.

BOOKED FOR THROWING COFFEE CUP AT WOMAN

Police were called to a coffee shop in the 1300 block of the Third Street Promenade at 10:35 a.m. Tuesday, May 22nd, where a woman alleged to police that a female suspect who was near the condiment area made a mess and when the woman asked the suspect if she was okay, the suspect got upset and threw a cup of coffee at her.

The woman was not injured.

The suspect then fled the store and walked down the street.

Store employees called police, who detained the suspect in the 300 block of Santa Monica Boulevard.

The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for assault and battery.

ALLEGEDLY ATTACKED MEN IN BEACH LOT

A man at a beach parking lot in the 1500 block of Pacific Coast Highway told police at 1:15 a.m. Monday, May 21st, that he was walking with a friend to his car when he saw a suspect allegedly urinating on the left side of his vehicle.

When the man asked the suspect what he was doing, the suspect reportedly became confrontational and some friends of the suspect then came by and argued with the man and his friend.

One of the suspects allegedly threw a can of beer at the man, narrowly missing his face, then took his shirt off, challenging the man to fight.

The suspect then reportedly punched the man in the face and the suspect’s friends also began to fight.

A suspect holding a golf club chased the man and reportedly hit him in the forearm. The suspect also allegedly struck the victim’s friend in the thigh with the club.

Witnesses called police, who located the suspects in a vehicle on the Santa Monica Freeway and stopped the car.

Police arrested three suspects and booked them in Santa Monica Jail for assault with a deadly weapon.

ARRESTED FOR HITTING WOMAN IN THE FACE

Police were called to the northeast corner of Lincoln and Olympic Boulevards at 7:50 p.m. Friday, May 18th, where a woman said that as she was walking on the sidewalk, a female suspect who was standing in front of a business walked up to her by the traffic light.

The suspect then allegedly punched the woman in the face for no apparent reason and walked away.

The woman called police, who located the suspect in the area and detained her.

Police arrested the suspect and booked her in Santa Monica Jail for assault and battery.

BOOKED FOR KNOCKING MAN OFF OF BICYCLE

Police were called to the 2800 block of Wilshire Boulevard at 12:20 p.m. Friday, May 18th, where a man alleged that he was riding his bicycle down the street and, when he was on the sidewalk, a suspect stepped out and pushed him off the bike, knocking him to the ground and causing scrapes and bruises.

Witnesses called police, who detained the suspect in the area of Berkeley Street and Wilshire Boulevard.

The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for assault and battery.

MAN ALLEGEDLY THREW COMPUTER AT MANAGER

Police were called to a hotel in the 100 block of Colorado Avenue at 3:46 a.m. Friday, May 18th, regarding a report of a suspect loitering inside the hotel lobby.

Hotel employees had asked the suspect to leave and when the hotel manager was about to call police, the suspect allegedly walked up to the counter, picked up a computer monitor and threw it at the manager, hitting him on the head. The suspect also reportedly threw a picture frame at the manager.

The victim was treated by paramedics at the scene.

The suspect fled the location and was located in the 1400 block of Ocean Avenue, where he was arrested by police. The suspect was booked in Santa Monica Jail for assault with a deadly weapon.

ALLEGEDLY HAD STOLEN LETTERS IN POSSESSION

Police were called to the 1300 block of Princeton Street at 2:15 a.m. Friday, May 18th, regarding a report of a suspicious person in the neighborhood.

Witnesses told police that someone was loitering around the alleys looking into houses.

Officers patrolling the area detained the suspect and found that he was allegedly in possession of a flashlight and two letters that were addressed to residents in the area.

The suspect was arrested and booked for prowling, possession of lost or stolen property and possession of burglary tools.
