ALLEGEDLY ASSAULTED SUPERMARKET CLERK

Police were called to a supermarket in the 1300 block of Wilshire Boulevard at 7:20 p.m. Wednesday, January 10th, where a clerk was involved in a struggle with a suspect at the rear of the market.

The suspect had allegedly gone into the store and created a disturbance, yelling at people and store clerks, who escorted the suspect outside the store.

Once the suspect was outside, he allegedly pushed a sales clerk with his closed fist a couple of times and the clerk then tried to restrain the suspect.

The suspect then allegedly began to kick and bite the employee and they both fell to the ground in a scuffle. The clerk detained the suspect until police arrived.

Police arrested the suspect and booked him in Santa Monica Jail for assault and battery.

ARRESTED FOR HITTING MAN WITH BEER BOTTLE

A man in the 1200 block of the beach alleged to police at 12:25 a.m. Monday, January 8th, that he was walking on the beach when a suspect approached him, asked him what he was looking at, and then struck the man with a beer bottle.

The suspect then fled eastbound toward the beach parking lot.

The victim reported the incident to a police officer on Santa Monica Pier, who then broadcast the incident and the suspect’s description.

Responding officers detained the suspect in the area of Ocean and Colorado Avenues and he was identified by the victim.

Police arrested the suspect and booked him in Santa Monica Jail for assault with a deadly weapon.

BOOKED FOR HITTING PEOPLE IN PARKING LOT

A woman in the 2600 block of Lincoln Boulevard alleged to police at 6:50 p.m. Wednesday, January 10th, that she was walking from her vehicle toward a video store when a suspect walked up to her and suddenly punched her in the face.

Witnesses who went to the aid of the woman were also allegedly punched several times by the suspect.

The suspect was eventually detained by the witnesses until police arrived.

Police arrested the suspect and booked her in Santa Monica Jail for assault and battery.

ALLEGEDLY STOLE ITEMS FROM BACK OF TRUCK

Police were called to the 2200 block of Ocean Avenue at 11:15 p.m. Tuesday, January 9th, regarding a report of a suspect taking items from the back of a pickup truck.

Witnesses alleged to police that the suspect was walking around the truck and looking into the back of it.

The suspect then allegedly opened the back of the truck and began to remove items. As he was allegedly removing the items, the suspect looked around to see if anyone was watching.

He then allegedly put the items into a blanket that he had removed from the truck, and witnesses called police.

Officers arrested the suspect as he was walking away from the truck and took him to Santa Monica Jail, where he was booked for vehicle burglary and narcotics possession.

MAN ALLEGEDLY HAD STOLEN BICYCLE ON PATH

Police were called to the 1600 block of Ocean Front Walk at 6:50 p.m. Tuesday, January 9th, regarding an investigation of a stolen bicycle.

A man who reported that his bicycle was stolen January 7th, told police that when he was on the bike path January 9th, he saw a suspect with his bicycle, which had unique alterations that the man recognized.

Responding officers detained the suspect, whose story kept changing about how he got the bike and how much he paid for it, according to police.

Officers determined that the bike belonged to the man, based on information that he provided on its modifications.

The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for possession of stolen property.

BOOKED FOR ASSAULTING LIQUOR STORE CLERK

Police were called to a liquor store in the 3100 block of Lincoln Boulevard at 8:15 p.m. Sunday, January 7th, regarding a report of an assault.

A store clerk told police that a suspect had gone into the store and attempted to buy alcohol but the clerk refused to sell to the suspect because he was already intoxicated.

When the clerk attempted to escort the suspect out of the store, he allegedly became upset and threw beer bottles down to the floor, breaking the bottles.

After the clerk told the suspect he had to wait until police arrived, the suspect fled. The clerk then tried to detain the suspect, who allegedly struck the clerk in the face with a closed fist.

Responding officers arrested the suspect and booked him in Santa Monica Jail for assault and battery.
