ALLEGEDLY STABBED MAN DURING FIGHT ON FIFTH ST.

Police were called to the 1300 block of Fifth Street at 4:56 p.m. Tuesday, February 21st, where a man told police that he saw two people fighting and that one of the suspects allegedly stabbed the other several times for an unknown reason.

When police arrived the suspect and the victim were still at the scene.

The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he was treated for a laceration to the back of his left shoulder.

The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for assault with a deadly weapon.

ALLEGEDLY DAMAGED TRASH CANS, PLANTERS

A man in the 1100 block of Idaho Avenue told police at 2:22 p.m. Sunday, February 19th, that while he was standing on the sidewalk, he saw a suspect allegedly knock down several trash cans and destroy several planters.

The damage to the property was estimated at $50.

The suspect fled but was later taken into custody.

Due to what police alleged was mental state of the suspect, he was taken to a local hospital for a psychological evaluation.

ARRESTED FOR TAKING BIKES FROM GARAGE

Police were called to the 800 block of Fourth Street at 7:46 a.m. Wednesday, February 22nd, where a fight was reported to be in progress.

A man and a woman alleged to police that they had seen a suspect take two bicycles from their underground garage.

When the suspect attempted to flee, the man and woman confronted the suspect and a struggle ensued.

The man and woman detained the suspect and notified police.

The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for residential burglary.

MAN ALLEGEDLY TOOK

HEADPHONES FROM STORE

Police were called to a store in the 1200 block of the Third Street Promenade at 3:30 p.m. Monday, February 20th, regarding a theft investigation.

A store loss prevention officer told police that a suspect entered the store and removed headphones from the display counter.

The suspect then allegedly cut open the headphone container to take the headphones, placed the empty container back on the display shelf and fled.

The suspect was detained outside the store and later released to police, who arrested him and booked him in Santa Monica Jail for commercial burglary.

BOOKED FOR TRYING

TO ASSAULT OFFICER

Police were called to a bar in the 2900 block of Main Street at 10:30 p.m. Sunday, February 19th, where an allegedly intoxicated man had refused to leave the establishment.

A security employee directed police to the location of the man but he allegedly refused to leave.

When a police officer was arresting the man, the man allegedly attempted to punch the officer twice.

The officer was not injured.

The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for assault on a police officer and public intoxication.

SUSPECTS ARRESTED

FOR GRAND THEFT AUTO

Police on patrol in the 1550 beach parking lot at 11:20 p.m. Saturday, February 18th, checked a vehicle license plate number and determined that the vehicle had been reported as stolen in Lancaster.

A man and woman who were inside the vehicle were arrested and taken to Santa Monica Jail, where they were booked for grand theft auto.

FOR AUTO BURGLARY

A woman in the 700 block of 22nd Street alleged to police at 6:20 a.m. Thursday, February 16th, that while she was walking, she saw a suspect inside a vehicle and that he did not appear to own the car.

Officers located the suspect in the 2200 block of Wilshire Boulevard and he was identified by a witness.

The owner of the vehicle told police that she had not given anyone permission to be in the vehicle.

The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for auto burglary.
