WOMAN ARRESTED FOR

ALLEGEDLY STEALING CDS

Police arrested a woman in the 300 block of Santa Monica Boulevard at around 11:15 a.m. Thursday, December 9th, after she allegedly tore security tabs off of CDs, put the CDs in her purse and walked out of the store without paying for the items.

The woman was taken to Santa Monica Jail, where she was booked for petty theft.

The CDs, which were recovered, were valued at $76.

UTILITY BILL QUARREL LEADS TO ALLEGED

WOODEN CANE ASSAULT

A man in the 2300 block of Ocean Park Boulevard told police around 8:30 p.m. Thursday, December 9th, that he was involved in an argument with another man regarding an electricity bill.

The victim said that during the argument the suspect allegedly struck him in the head with a wooden cane.

Police found the suspect in the area and arrested him. He was booked in Santa Monica Jail for assault with a deadly weapon.

The victim did not require medical attention.

WANTED BURGLAR

ARRESTED

An officer on patrol in the area of 17th Street and Olympic Boulevard at 11:50 p.m. Thursday, December 9th, noticed a man who was allegedly wanted for auto burglary.

The suspect saw the officer and began to ride faster on his

bicycle in an attempt to evade the officer, according to the officer.

The officer apprehended the suspect, arrested him and booked him in Santa Monica Jail on charges of burglary and felony probation violation.

ALLEGED BURGLAR

A woman in the 400 block of Seventh Street called police at 2:38 p.m. Friday, December 10th, after she observed a man allegedly attempt to open the front door of her home.

The suspect saw the woman and fled on foot.

Responding officers arrested the suspect in the area, the suspect was identified by the victim, and the suspect was booked in Santa Monica Jail on charges of attempted burglary.

ALLEGED SLEEPING BAG THIEF BAGGED BY POLICE

A victim in the 1400 block of 12th Street called police Saturday, December 11th, to report that she had seen a suspect allegedly open a window of the victim’s home, take a sleeping bag and flee on foot.

The victim later reported seeing the suspect on a nearby street allegedly carrying the sleeping bag.

Responding officers arrested the suspect and booked him in Santa Monica Jail for possession of stolen property.

GRAND THEFT CHARGED FOR THEFT OF TWO CDS

A loss prevention officer in the 1200 block of the Third Street Promenade called police Saturday, December 11th, after he detained a woman who allegedly stole two computer software CDs from a store.

The suspect was released to police who arrested the suspect and booked her in Santa Monica Jail on charges of grand theft.

The recovered CDs were valued at $1,729.

TWO SUSPECTS ARRESTED FOR ATTEMPTED BURGLARY

A witness in the 1000 block of Cedar Avenue called police at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, December 15th, after he said he observed a suspect attempt to force open a door of a residence, while another suspect acted as the lookout.

The witness told police that he confronted the first suspect, who then fled on foot with the second suspect.

Police responding to the scene found the suspects and arrested them.

They were taken to Santa Monica Jail and booked for attempted burglary.

PETTY THEFT

A man was arrested in the 100 block of Pier Avenue at around 6:40 p.m. Wednesday, December 15th, after an employee of a video store said he observed the man take DVDs and food items off the shelf and leave the store without paying for the items.

Police responded to the scene and arrested the suspect for petty theft. He was booked in Santa Monica Jail.
