Parisian sculptor Marie-Pierre Philippe-Lohézic is one of 11 artists exhibiting works in the Spring Fever show at The Happening Gallery in Marina del Rey through May 1.

The exhibit opened to the public April 8 at The Happening Gallery, 4047 Lincoln Blvd., Marina del Rey.

Philippe-Lohézic is a French artist who will have nine bronze sculptures on display in Spring Fever.

Born in Paris, Philippe-Lohézic studied at l’…cole des Beaux-Arts and went on to become profoundly versatile in her mediums, achieving mastery in painting, printmaking, and sculpture.

Her sculpture pieces include bronze casting and stone and wood carving. The figurative works now on exhibit showcase Philippe-Lohézic’s cubist inspiration and although her admiration for modern artists such as Picasso, Rodin, and Archipenko is evident, her own unique style has forged her own identity in the realm of fine art sculpture, a gallery spokeswoman says.

The Happening Gallery is open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays.
