Memorial Day weekend activities at Muscle Beach in Venice will include the traditional bodybuilding and figure competitions as well as a U.S. Air Force simulator ride.

The schedule of events at the Venice Beach Recreation Center, 1800 Ocean Front Walk, will begin with the “RAW” Bench Press contest at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 25, followed by the Sumo Classic at 1 p.m.
The Muscle Beach International Classic & Armed Forces Championship Bodybuilding, Figure, Bikini, and Men’s Physique contest, which is open to all amateur athletes, will be held on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27.
Held in conjunction is the “Battle of the Branches” Armed Forces Bodybuilding Championships, which is open to all active, reserve, National Guard, and retired armed forces personnel.
Prejudging for both competitions will begin at 10 a.m., with the finals at 1 p.m. Admission is free for spectators.
As part of the Memorial Day activities, the Rapid Strike simulator will be on display. Visitors can board the simulation ride that lets them experience a real Air Force mission including a F-22 flight, C-17 Cargo drop, CCT ground surveillance, satellite communications and Reaper missile strike.
Rides are free and open to the public.
Representatives of military branches will also have recruitment booths and static displays, and vendors from the health and fitness industry will be on hand with information and giveaways.
