Dozens of local organizations are expected to be on hand at a Community Volunteer Fair to explain their programs and how volunteers can help meet critical community needs and make a difference in the New Year by contributing time, energy and expertise to the community.

The fair will take place from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, January 27th, in the Santa Monica Public Library Fairview Branch, 2101 Ocean Park Blvd., Santa Monica.

Volunteer opportunities in Santa Monica and on the Los

Angeles Westside will be featured. Refreshments will be served and there will be a prize drawing.

Agencies at the fair include those serving the arts, literacy, the environment, social services, emergency preparedness and populations such as at-risk youths, senior adults and women’s shelters.

The program is free and open to the public.

The fair is a collaborative effort of the Santa Monica Public Library, the City of Santa Monica Volunteer Program and Wise Senior Services.
