California Democratic Party representatives will hold a meeting in Westchester Saturday, Jan. 12 to select delegates from the 62nd Assembly District for the party’s State Convention in April.
Eighty Assembly districts throughout the state will elect 12 people (six women and six men) to be members of the Democratic State Central Committee. The 12 delegates will represent their Assembly district for both the 2013 and 2014 State Conventions.
“Becoming a delegate to the California Democratic Party gives you an opportunity to help impact the future of our state and nation,” said California Democratic Party Vice Chair Eric C. Bauman. “Please join fellow Democratic activists and help shape and lead your state Democratic Party.”
The 62nd Assembly District, represented by Assemblyman Steve Bradford, includes the communities of Venice, Marina del Rey, Playa Vista, Playa del Rey, Westchester, El Segundo, Inglewood, Hawthorne, Lawndale, Lennox, Morningside Park and Westmont.
The meeting for the 62nd Assembly District will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Jan. 12 at Westchester Fire Station #5, 8900 S. Emerson Ave., Westchester.
All Democrats residing in the 62nd District and registered to vote by Oct. 22, 2012 may participate and vote in the district meeting.
