Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage of Marina del Rey/ Venice, in cooperation with the Boys & Girls Club of Venice, held its annual “White Elephant Auction” benefiting a local family during the holidays.

The event is held in the Coldwell Banker offices, where agents “bid” on items donated by local businesses and the agents themselves. Items ranged from gift certificates valued at hundreds of dollars from local businesses to family heirlooms rescued from the obscurity of a dusty corner of the family garage, according to the brokerage.

This year’s celebrity auctioneers were Klaus Von Strudel, branch manager, and his partner Vienna Von Šclair, office administrator.

The event raised over $2,200 in contributions, which will be used to provide everything from food and clothing to other non-essentials such as toys for the group’s chosen recipient — a woman and her son who are currently homeless and living in a motel, according to Coldwell Banker.

“It’s a really fun event for the agents, and the fact that a deserving family benefits really makes it special” said Bill Dalton, branch manager.
