A 45-year-old Los Angeles woman was found shot to death in her car on Vista del Mar in Playa del Rey, near Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) late Tuesday, December 11th, Los Angeles police said.
The woman, identified by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office as Tina Marie Gatlin, was found with a gunshot wound to the upper torso inside her parked 1999 Honda Accord at about 11:45 p.m. in the 11000 block of Vista del Mar, police said.
A county coroner spokesman said Gatlin was the victim of a homicide and the cause of death was listed as a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
Police said there are currently no known witnesses to the shooting and the motive is unknown. Detective Mike DePasquale of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Pacific Area said the shooting did not appear to be gang-related.
Police did not have any suspect description and are asking for the public’s help in locating any potential suspects.
